Oximes react with strong oxidizing agents, including uranium hexafluoride, cobalt trifluoride, and halogens, to produce ketones and gaseous nitrogen oxides. These reactions may proceed even under mild conditions (Cosaro, A.; Chiacchio, U.; Pistara, V. Regeneration of Carbonyl Compounds from the Corresponding Oximes. Synthesis. 2001, Vol. 13, p. 1903-193).
