The Longhorns Tennis camp has one more week of traditional camp (July 6-10) and one week
of match play camp (July 13-17). Both programs are based upon tactical themes (First Strike,
Point Building, Capitalize & Attack, Finish, and Defense) that provide campers a strategical
foundation to develop their skills in an exciting learing environment. These programs are
dedicated to providing juniors (ages 9-18) a positive experience. Participants will have the
opportunity to receive instruction from experienced coaches who make learning fun!
Camp directors, University of Texas Head Tennis Coaches Michael Center and Patty Fendick-McCain, have a wealth of experience in camp environments. They are dedicated to the task of creating a fun atmosphere and building young players' games based on their individual styles of play.
Match Play Camps: July 13-17 The match play camp provides juniors an opportunity to develop their tactical skills. Drill
sessions emphasis the 6 tactical mind sets (First Strike, Point Building, Capatalizing, Attack,
Finish, and Defense). Various types of singles and doubles matches then allow campers the
chance to apply the University of Texas system of success to their own play.
Team Camp: August 21-23 (Thursday.-Saturday) The team camp allows middle school and high school teams a weekend to train and compete
together prior to starting the school year.
Additional adult programs this year!
Summer Adult Camp - June 21-22 Coach Michael Center will offer a week summer camp for men and women with a NTRP rating
of 3.0-5.0. Have a blast training with the 2007 USPTA Collegiate Coach of the Year.
